Required Entrance Assessment

All students desiring to participate in MATC programs will be required to take the Career Ready Entrance Assessment.  This Entrance Assessment measures the candidate’s Reading Comprehension and Basic Math Skills levels.  This aids in ensuring the student is adequately prepared for the basic reading and math principles that will be used in the program they decide to enroll in.

  • All students must complete an entrance assessment.
  • The entrance exam is free to take and can be completed during normal testing hours on a walk in basis.
  • There is a waiting period of 24 hours for any repeat attempts.
  • Higher requirements may be required by specific programs.

Apprenticeship Exams

Entrance to the plumbing and HVAC apprenticeship programs requires that the candidate pass the Career Ready Reading Comprehension exam and the Accuplacer Arithmetic Exam.  Please use the following link for the Arithmetic Study Guide.

Proctored Exams

Test proctoring is available for Brigham Young University, Western Governor’s University, Weber State University, Southern Utah University, Dixie State University, and many other institutions.  Please contact the testing center for more information.

Test proctoring for groups is available for schools and businesses.  Please contact the testing center manager for pricing and information.

  • MATC Tests – Free
  • General proctoring – $10.00
  • General proctoring for MATC student – $5.00
  • WGU Tests – No additional proctoring fee
  • RMGA Exams – $110.00
  • ISO Quality Testing – No additional proctoring fee (schedule through ISO)
  • Pearson Vue Exams – No additional proctoring fee (Pearson Vue)
  • Accuplacer Exams – $10.00 for single exam
    • $15.00 for multiple exams
    • Free for MATC students for first two attempts
  • CNA Testing – No additional proctoring fee. However, you must have voucher from UNAR
